After working on this and aspects of this for over a month straight, I'm FINALLY DOOOOONE! It took for freaking ever, but it was worth it!
ANYWAYS. I learned a lot through this. What was really funny is what people thought parts of this was as I was sketching and inking it. I did stuff all out of order and left big chunks out. People thought the Beast was a snail, a taco, and some people thought Belle was stabbing him with a banana. Maybe that's a sign that I should work on the whole layout of pictures next time...XD But just so you know, this is an illustration of the real version of Beauty and the Beast. After Belle's sisters trick her into staying home longer than the Beast allowed, she returned home to find the Beast dead in his rose garden. This is for my IB advanced 2D course where my theme is the real versions of fairy tales. I made my own Beast (which you can see here), which was a lot of fun.
ANYWAYS. I'm done with this project. That's all I care about~!

I love the rain and run-off! The shading and lighting is amazing! Great texture on the cloak and the Beast's clothes. I love how you did the rose garden. The beast looks really nice, i love his fur. This is so tragic ;A;

now that you've added color and a full description of what's goin on in the picture i can finally SEE the Beast in it! lol

looks good though! the glow from the lantern looks really cool as does the rain

It's not all that different from the original. I'll give you a summary-
Belle's father is a rich merchant and has 4 daughters including Belle. He goes bankrupt and then learns one of his ships survived a storm, so he goes out to look for it and asks his daughters what they want when he comes back. Belle asks for a rose, the rest ask for pretty shiny things. He gets lost, finds the castle, finds a rose garden and tries to take a rose when Beast catches him and makes him bring back his daughter in exchange for his freedom. She comes back, befriends Beast, he constantly proposes to her, only to be turned down. She has dreams of a handsome man asking her why she wont marry the Beast. She gets homesick and asks to go home for a week, he gives her a ring that will get her back to his castle and a mirror so she can see what's going on back there. The sisters trick her into staying longer, hoping Beast will eat her, and she looks in the mirror to find him dying. She returns to the castle to find him dead in his rose garden, and starts crying and sobbing saying she loves him. Then he changes back into a human, and all that happily ever after stuff happens.

Aw man, poor Beast getting all put down D: She has mean sisters XP The Beast sounds really sweet in that version. I wonder where Disney got Gaston from XD
